A new vacancy has arisen for one full-time Project Editor at Ivy Press and one full-time Project Editor at Ivy Kids, part of the Quarto Group based in Brighton. The Quarto Group is the leading global illustrated book publisher; our mission is to educate, entertain and enrich the lives of readers. At Ivy, we create beautiful non-fiction books for discerning, curious and creative readers, across subject areas ranging from natural history, popular science, architecture and design to conscious living, pets and making. Ivy Kids produces beautiful books that will get kids making, creating, thinking, playing and dreaming. Our titles maintain the highest editorial, design and production standards, and we work with publishing partners all over the world.

We are looking for conscientious, creative and proactive Project Editors with a proven track record in delivering high quality illustrated books on schedule and budget. You must able to take responsibility for managing several titles, from initial concept through to final, print-ready files. You will have a meticulous eye for detail, supreme organisational skills and plenty of initiative. You must have an organised mind, and be able to prioritise your workload and drive your projects forward. A great team player who works well under pressure, you will have superb communication and negotiation skills. You will enjoy working with designers and editors – both in and out of house – and be more than happy to liaise directly with client publishers, authors, contributors, picture libraries and photographers. You will be unflappable and positive in the face of pressing deadlines – and will thrive on resolving often complex problems.

The successful candidate will have high editorial standards, an excellent eye for detail and a well-developed visual sense, and will be a proficient user of relevant IT software (InDesign, Excel and Word are essential).
