Ivy Kids’ Town and Country wins a Platinum Award at the Junior Design Awards 2017

01 Aug 2017

Town and Country, illustrated by Brighton-based artist Craig Shuttlewood and published by Ivy Kids, has won the Platinum Award (First Place) in the Best Children's Book (5+) category at the Junior Design Awards.

Town and Country is aimed at children who are just starting to engage with simple written words. They can pick an item on the glossary panel, then try to find it in the big picture. The book can be opened one way to explore the town scene, and then flipped over to delve into the country landscape.

The JDA organisers said: "The Platinum Award is our highest level of accreditation reserved for truly outstanding entries. There isn't a platinum winner in every category, so it's a really fantastic achievement.

Craig Shuttlewood said: "I am so pleased Town and Country has won the Platinum Award for the Best Children's Book (5+)! The format and turnaround theme of the book adds a nice surprise for children and there are plenty of quirky characters and things to spot. I hope to work on a follow up title with Ivy Kids who are a pleasure to work with and always full of enthusiasm!"

The annual Junior Design Awards give entrants a unique opportunity to win a prestigious luxury family lifestyle award for the brand and/or products they enter. There is a selection of 55 categories to enter, over five sections: Toys, Fashion, Food & Dining, Family travel and Children's books. Find out more about them here.
