Frances Lincoln Children’s Librarian Prize

The Frances Lincoln Children’s Librarian Prize (FLCLP) is presented annually to a children’s or teen librarian who champions diversity and inclusion in their collection and community. The prize is open to school and public librarians. The winner of the FLCLP will receive a book donation and $1500 cash prize for their library.

About Frances Lincoln:
Frances Elisabeth Rosemary Lincoln was one of the most successful publishers of her generation, known for promoting diversity and originality in her books. After working in publishing for a few years, Lincoln began to recognize some significant gaps in the market, specifically in the diversity space. She decided to found Frances Lincoln Publishing in 1977 with the main goal of encouraging authors to write about a diverse range of aspects that touch children from all over the world. Lincoln’s groundbreaking work earned her the title of Woman of the Year for Services to Multicultural Publishing in 1995. Lincoln passed away in 2001, but her legacy lives on through her imprint Frances Lincoln Children’s Books, which was acquired by The Quarto Group in 2011.
