We focus on integrity in all of our activities, consider our impact on society and the environment and work to be a good corporate citizen.
We try to make our business more sustainable by considering the sustainability aspects of our most important business decisions. We use sustainable paper and we are managing our carbon emissions by ensuring we consolidate shipments across the Group, and ship as infrequently as possible.
In 2017, we launched The Quarto Foundation to further support our local communities in areas that are close to our hearts and business – education and knowledge. Every Quarto office is supporting one local charity to support, raising money through mechanisms such as matched giving, in-kind donations and volunteering time.
The Quarto Group is committed to help raise literacy levels by supporting the 2018 vision for Literacy Business Pledge, a UK national campaign led by the National Literacy Trust.
Now in its third year, the 63 signatories of the pledge in 2018 include KPMG, Sainsbury's, Costa, Boots Opticians, McDonald's, Amazon UK as well as several publishers such as Penguin Random House, Walker Books, Hachette UK, Egmont Publishing, Pan Macmillan and Pearson.
The Literacy Pledge is very much aligned with Quarto's corporate values. Signatories are committing to engage their employees in the literacy challenge; support the drive to raise literacy levels in their local communities; and contribute to the national campaign to raise literacy levels.
