Copy Writer

Quarto Publishing plc has a brand new opportunity for a Copy Writer based in our central London offices. The successful candidate will be a strong writer with excellent organisational and communication skills and will support the sales, marketing and metadata teams.

Key Responsibilitites

  • Develop effective, clear, and persuasive sales copy for key titles across multiple platforms and audiences, including catalog, sales information sheets copy, online descriptions, and keywords
  • Ensure all online content remains up-to-date and accurate by proofing and responding quickly to book updates from editorial and sales
  • Organise workload for efficient time-management - schedule, track, and oversee the development of copy to make sure deadlines are met
  • Ensure quality and accuracy of copy through careful proofreading and cross-checking all details in title management system
  • Cross reference final products against title management record to ensure information is accurate; make necessary edits
  • Assist central sales/marketing, marketing managers, and social media team with effective, clear, and persuasive marketing promotions and collateral, such as: mini catalogs, sell sheets, flyers, postcards, emails, and more
  • Work with the editorial and marketing teams helping to develop effective consumer facing copy for jackets and advertising campaigns as required

Skills and Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years copywriting experience in advertising, direct marketing, promotion, or publishing
  • Ability to write persuasive copy for multiple audiences
  • Proven ability to work independently, as well as partner with others and work well within a team
  • Strong organisational and time management skills; ability to adhere to multiple deadlines
  • Ability to write in various styles for diverse audiences
  • Proficiency with InDesign, MS Office, Google apps, experience with CMS//title management systems
  • Web coding skills a plus
